Our Collaborations
APACE x International Examiner Youth Articles
Collaborators: International Examiner, APACE Youth Fellows
This year, during the month of September 2020, one of the first projects APACE fellows and community youth participated in consisted of media literacy to submit an article to the International Examiner. This media literacy experience consisted of one outreach strategy to get more youth involved by creating a writing contest for winners to receive $150 for a writing submission. The other media literacy experience consisted of APACE fellows to submit articles as their first project.
In addition, local artist Danthanh Trinh created the cover art with themes of free public education, medicare for all, affordable housing, protection of love, more green spaces, and immigrant rights. Each year, APACE sponsors a youth focused newspaper issue to be printed in October, leading up to election day with the International Examiner (cost of the sponsorship is $2,000.)
