Automatic voter registration makes two transformative, yet simple, changes to voter registration: Eligible citizens who interact with government agencies are registered to vote unless they decline, and agencies transfer voter registration information electronically to election officials.
We are supporting HB2595 and SB6353 for Automatic Voter Registration. It’s important, as we continue to have conversations around AVR, that we support these two bills and reinforce how important it is to protect non-citizens and to include multiple state agencies. Governor Jay Inslee also backs HB2595.
Please contact your legislature today to support a strong AVR bill with multiple state agencies and protections for noncitizens! If it is before 7 pm please call the legislature hotline at 1-800-562-6000, where they will connect you to your legislature’s office when you give them your address.
If it is after 7pm then please use http://app.leg.wa.gov/DistrictFinder/ to find your district and legislature! Then call their specific office and voice your support for AVR!
